The hairbrush first appeared as Dr. Katherine PulaskiÕs brush in 
ÒUnnatural SelectionÓ (TNG). The property department provided an ordinary 
hairbrush for the scene, but asked the art department to provide a bit of 
detailing on the brush to make it a little more futuristic. Realizing there isnÕt 
that much you can do to a hairbrush, Mike Okuda and Rick Sternbach applied a
small sticker, the same graphics used for control buttons on the first-season
phasers. They figured that even if you couldnÕt set the hairbrush to Òstun,Ó
Pulaski might have been able to set it to Òcurl.Ó  Æ
