The system software identification number (40271) was actually part 
of ParamountÕs internal charge number used to keep track of costs incurred 
for the production of Star Trek:  The Next Generation.  This particular graphic 
was created for the showÕs first season, but graphics created for subsequent 
seasons often had updated charge numbers reflecting the year in which they 
were first used (40272 was a second-season charge, and 40277 was for the 
seventh and final season of the show.)  Æ
