The Star Trek set dressing department only had one viewer painted 
beige (the remainder were painted black). This particular unit was also used 
in Deanna TroiÕs office. The viewers were constructed so that the backlit 
graphic could easily be replaced when a given episode needed a specific 
graphic. Additionally, the screen could be left dark, and animated graphics 
could be Òburned inÓ by the visual effects department.  Æ
