The Stargazer was designed by Andrew Provert and Rick Sternbach, 
using mostly parts of several commercial U.S.S. Enterprise-A model kits. The 
Stargazer model was loaned to miniature maker Greg Jein when a larger 
Stargazer was required for visual effects photography in ÒThe BattleÓ (TNG). 
So tight was the visual effects production schedule for that episode that 
Greg needed the desktop model for reference while the episode itself was in 
principal photography, which is why the desktop model was missing from 
PicardÕs ready room during ÒThe Battle.Ó (It was replaced during that 
episode by a standard model of the movie Enterprise.)  Æ
